THE COVENANT OF MARRIAGE

What a special and amazing weekend we had! Beginning with the young people that made their purity commitments on Saturday and ending on a great note in the Sunday morning church service.

The theme this Sunday was “The Covenant of Marriage”.  A powerful message, it was full of revelation and liberation.  Hundreds of married couples learned the true meaning of the covenant they have made before God and took account of how through the years a marriage can be depreciated and stained because of our own human concepts.

Just think about this for a moment:  The most sacred relationship we could possibly have is the one between us and God, and the only other relationship that God compares it to is marriage. God describes the moment in which His church is presented in front of Him, pure and stainless, to be united with Him for an eternity that is free of sin and suffering…just like a wedding.  Yes! Like a wedding!  It is the greatest, most longed-for moment by God and by us, and cannot be compared to a graduation, birthday party, inauguration, anything along these lines, except for a wedding.  This shows how God feels about matrimony and the magnitude of this covenant made at the altar.

Many marriages are affected by sinful decisions that have been made in the past or are affecting their marriage today, much of the time without realizing what bad decisions they are.  Many marriages have a false perception of what their union represents.  Because of this, Sunday was a revolution in understanding the way God sees marriage.

When the pastor called up all the married couples to the altar, they had the emotional opportunity to forgive each other and make the decision together to drastically change their lifestyle to be able to break through their struggles and set an example for their children.

We strongly believe that this is only the beginning of the growth and strengthening of these marriages, and we hope to spread this to the edges of the Earth.  This is why we have shared this with you.  We wish this as a blessing for you.
